Facilities
Safety & Security
To provide an improved sense of safety and security for our facilities and all who come here, our Safety & Security Team has looked at recommendations and pursuing various options:
- Installing a new entry access control system at our parking lot door. This will provide church building access to groups via a mobile phone app or key fob during designated times and days.
- Installing a new security camera system at this same main entry door to see and record building visitors at any point in time.
Installing new, high security key cylinders on all exterior doors and assigning keys, that cannot be duplicated, to select staff members and others. - Installing a new burglar alarm and interior motion-activated surveillance system with cameras in the gathering space, chancel, and fellowship hall.
Sanctuary Floor
The sanctuary's beautiful terrazzo floors will be restored to its original luster and beauty.
- Pews will be removed so that all floor areas can be stripped, re-polished, and re-sealed.
Parking Lot
- Our parking lot will be improved, initially by repairing the cracks and potholes, followed by seal coating and repainting the stripes.
- Funds will be set aside for a needed full parking lot replacement in a few years.
- Recently we were forced to repair an underground pipe below our parking lot and we want to replenish those repair funds.
Tuckpointing
- The building's brick exterior will get tuckpointing and crack and mortar repair.
- The mortar will be resealed on our beautiful building and stained-glass window frames to protect them from further damage.
Elevator Pit
- The elevator pit's foundation will be evaluated and repaired to prevent water seepage.
- Standing water will be drained and a new sump pump installed.
- The elevator’s electrical system will get any needed upgrades and repairs due to age or corrosion.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Audio-Visual Equipment & Wi-Fi Systems
Sound System
Sound system updates will significantly improve the quality and clarity of sound in both the sanctuary and fellowship hall.
- Both areas will get identical, improved systems with new amplifiers, microphones, and receivers programmed on iPads.
- The Fellowship Hall will get new speakers that will balance the sound from the stage to the kitchen.
Video Camera
Our video capabilities will be vastly improved with new, state-of-the-art equipment.
- New, permanent video cameras, capable of panning and zooming, installed in both our sanctuary and fellowship hall, will stream, record, and showcase each of our worship services in far greater detail.
- The equipment's new capabilities will enhance the worship experience and make it more meaningful and spirit-driven for our digital community.
Video Projector
- A new, brighter video projector will shine through our sanctuary's abundance of natural light.
Wi-Fi System
To complete our technological improvements, we will install upgraded, more reliable Wi-Fi access points and ethernet cords throughout our building.
Upgraded, reliable Wi-Fi will make community connection easier, more accessible, and uninterrupted for worship services, meetings, events, and classroom learning.
AUDIO-VISUAL
Clearer, easier to see and hear projected images, scripture readings, song lyrics, and congregational meeting agendas will help to engage people more fully in worship and enhance our worship experience considerably.
Mission & Ministry Fund
With our facilities well-cared for, we plan to increase our ministries of caring and transformation to our members and neighbors in need.
Our current budget covers some ministry and mission, but we desire to increase the amount that we put towards ministering to our members and local community. Setting up a separate Mission & Ministry Fund will allow us to support opportunities as they arise.
These member opportunities might include, but would not be limited to:
- Transportation assistance for our seniors and others.
- Busy bags and mobile stations with quiet activities especially for our neurodivergent children who are attending services and events with their parents.
- Expanding Rally Day, Fall Fest, Candy Cane Lane, and our Vacation Bible School.
- Expanding our New Hope Community Food Pantry funding to help pay for rent and salaries that grants don’t cover.
- Community workshops recommended by our Reconciling in Christ Launch Team.
- A Mental Health & Wellness Fair.
Available Funds
Having funds available will enable us to say “Yes” when presented with ideas for new and expanding ministries without impacting our budget or eroding our endowment.
