Our Plans

Priority Enhancements

Pest Control: Our first priority, before starting any renovations, is to rid our campus of termites. This process involves erecting and sealing a tent-like structure around each building (except for the Holly House) and releasing a fumigant. The tent will stay sealed for three to five days to ensure the termites are killed.
For our safety, the buildings will be tested to ensure the level of chemicals are no longer harmful to humans and then cleaned before we reoccupy them. We are hopeful that we can complete this process between our weekend services.

Roof: Secondly, all our campus building's roofs and fascia will be inspected and repairs made as needed. Our buildings will then be protected, inside and out, for the next 20 years.

HVAC: To create a comfortable climate for worship and fellowship we will install a new energy-efficient HVAC system for the Sanctuary building. This system will be automated to monitor and properly control building temperatures and humidity levels.

The education building will also get a new HVAC system including all new ductwork to resolve the mold issue – ensuring our staff and all those who use our building are provided with a healthy environment.

Exterior Stucco Repair & Repainting: To protect our buildings from the hot sun and sea spray, the stucco will be repaired as needed and then fresh paint will cover the entire exterior of our buildings.

Landscaping: Our goal is to make our grounds as welcoming and beautiful as our buildings. Our circle will be improved with a wall to hold more soil to better nourish  existing and new trees and plants. And, the dead palm trees on our entrance lane will be removed or relandscaped.

Parking Lots: Our facility's first impression will be completely updated by resurfacing our parking lots. Then traffic flow and parking will be improved with new striping and parking stops.

Maintenance Golf Cart: A new golf cart will enable our maintenance staff to spend their time maintaining our facilities instead of maintaining the cart itself.

We have developed a solid plan to address our building maintenance and improvement needs. Keeping our facilities in good repair now and into the future is fundamental to our call to be good stewards of the gifts God has so graciously bestowed on us, and will allow us to continue to be the Community Church by the Sea.

Interior

Sanctuary & Sanctuary Building

Flooring: A very visible improvement in our plan will be installing new red carpeting in the Sanctuary. This color is an integral part of the room’s beauty and brilliantly grounds the space's height.  It will retain the dramatic visual and figurative path forward from the church entrance to the glorious altar area.

Also, new luxury vinyl tile (LVT) will be installed on both sides of the Chancel's marble and new carpeting put in the covered patio, lobby, quiet room, and Deacons’ Room.

Repainting: Before repainting the interiors of the Sanctuary and other areas, we will first address cracks, peeling paint, and water-damaged sections on the ceilings, walls, and windowsills. Then the entire space will be brightened and refreshed with new paint.

Organ: Our glorious organ will get the repairs and maintenance it needs to grandly lead our music worship for many more years.

Stained glass: Our beautiful stained-glass windows' Lucite coverings will be replaced to better protect them from the weather. We’ll also complete the lobby's original plan by installing custom-designed stained-glass representing the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the upper windows.

Hurricane Windows: We plan to install new hurricane windows on the Sanctuary’s east and west sides and the north and south sides of the church office. These will be more energy efficient, save energy costs, and may also reduce our insurance premium because they will be in 100% compliance with hurricane-rated protection.

Fellowship Hall & Kitchen: Renovating the fellowship hall kitchen will enhance its functionality for serving large groups and ensure it meets current safety codes. Updates will feature new, easy-to-clean flooring, updated cabinet doors, food-safe surfaces, and commercial-grade appliances.

Additionally, the solid bifold door screens will be replaced with privacy mesh to allow better airflow between the kitchen and hall. Then, new flooring in the fellowship hall will refresh and brighten the space.

Education Building

Elevator: To ensure the elevator's safety, we will install a code-compliant, locking monitor system so that it cannot move until the doors are completely closed.

Restrooms: The restrooms will be updated with high-rise toilets, grab bars, and new exhaust fans, and refreshed with new paint and ceiling tiles. This will greatly enhance their appearance and usability for everyone, especially those with mobility issues.

Repainting: Cracks, peeling paint, and water-damaged areas on the ceilings, walls, and windowsills will be repaired and refreshed with new paint.
