Sanctuary & Nave (Main Body of the Church)
- The altar platform size will be reduced and made accessible yet designed to keep the altar as the focal point of our liturgies.
- Our choir and musicians will get ample space next to the altar to face and lead the congregation with inspiring hymns and music.
- The new altar and ambo (pulpit) will be made of stone and marble, as will the back altar which will have a new and appropriate tabernacle.
- The altar Reredos, or backdrop, will be updated and a new crucifix placed above our beautiful new tabernacle at the center of the backdrop and altars.
- New church flooring of longer-lasting, bright tile will make our church seem brighter and more spacious.
- The lighting system and fixtures will be replaced with modern, more effective, and efficient LED lighting.
- Comfortable new pews with kneelers will be installed.
Stations, Statuary, & Baptismal Font
- New, larger, and more beautiful Stations of the Cross will be hung on the church’s interior, side walls.
- New statues of St. Charles Borromeo, patron saint of our parish, and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, patron saint of the United States, will be placed in new Reredos niches, giving these important icons heightened visibility and reverence.
- Special niches for a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a statue of Santo Nino will be created to give reverence as well.
- A beautiful, new, stone baptismal font will have a prominent symbolic position in the center aisle at the entrance of our remodeled Nave.
Vestibule, Restrooms, & Doors
- The vestibule and restroom areas will get tile floors and LED lighting.
- The restrooms will be updated to meet ADA requirements including wheelchair accessible stalls, lower sinks, and handicap-approved faucets.
- All interior and exterior doors will be replaced by solid wood or insulated doors with appropriate emergency and ADA hardware.
Parking Lot
- The parking lots will be repaired, slurry coated, and re-striped. The muddy area behind the church will be paved as part of a future project after the completion of this project.
- An accessible church entry will be welcoming to all with appropriate ADA codes and sloping added.
- Landscape and lighting will be added or upgraded to allow for both environmental and safety concerns.
