Our Needs

Expanded & Improved Classrooms & Specialty Spaces

Our current facilities are not equipped to provide the quality faith and values based education our school is known for into the future.

• We lack the classrooms and specialty spaces needed to accommodate our current students and to attract more students to our school.
• Having attractive educational spaces is important and urgent in order to be competitive in attracting young families to our school and church.
• Other local schools are updating facilities and revamping programs to add more child-care space, libraries, art rooms, computer and science labs, rooms for band, choir, drama, sports, STEM programs, clubs, and other diverse and desirable activities.

New Multi-Use Gymnasium, Auditorium & Event Center

• Our existing gym is too small, has a slippery tile floor and has a non-regulation-size basketball court.
• The limited bleacher seating does not accommodate our school's sporting event crowds.
• The bleachers are set too-close to the playing floor, risking both spectators and participants to injury.
• Our stage is cumbersome and labor-intensive to set up in the gym. It limits our ability for music concerts, theater productions, and other events.
• Both our men’s and women’s locker rooms are inadequate.
• We do not have enough storage for our recreational and sound equipment or tables and chairs. 

New School Commons & Cafeteria Area

Having the gym serve as the school cafeteria requires setting up and taking down tables each day.

• We have no concession stand or congregation area for people to use before, after, and during breaks in gym activities.  

Other School Building Improvements

• The gym’s flat roof is failing and leaking in places.
• The HVAC system is not as cost and energy efficient as it could be.
• Hallway, classroom, and office walls are outdated and the old tile floors potentially contain dangerous asbestos, especially in the south wing.
• Our education building needs a sprinkler system to meet fire code.
• Our facility restrooms are not handicapped accessible.

 

School Building Addition

• Expanded Early Childhood Center
• New multi-use gymnasium, auditorium, and event center
• New commons area
• New classrooms & specialty spaces in the old gymnasium and preschool
• Other minor, needed school improvements
  
  

Repurposed Space for School Expansion  

The old gymnasium and preschool spaces will be remodeled into:  

• Two (2) new multi-use classrooms.
• Specialty spaces including a new library and resource center, science lab, and an expanded, dedicated music and band room.

New School Commons & Cafeteria Area

A new commons area will connect our existing school building to the new addition on it's south side. It will:

• Be integrated into part of the main entry to the school.
• Serve as a new cafeteria adjacent to the school kitchen.
• Provide gathering space for church meals and meetings.
• Include a concession stand and provide congregation space for people involved in gym activities.
• Include new handicapped accessible restrooms.
