Repurposing & Consolidating Existing Spaces

Off-Site Parish Rectory
Our parish office was, until recently, shared space with our parish rectory, which was very intrusive on our priests’ downtime and privacy. In addition, having the parish office center in the priests’ residence made it a challenging office space.

Consolidated Parish Offices

• Until recently, our parish office center could not accommodate the entire parish staff.
• The building is not welcoming or fully handicapped accessible.
• Our priests have their own offices, but five staff members share two cramped offices.
• We only have two office meeting spaces.
• Office storage space is too limited.
• The space is poorly configured.
• Despite being replumbed, the old building has constant plumbing problems.

Temporary Middle School Classrooms
We’d like to bring back 7th and 8th grade classes that we haven’t had for almost 35 years. However, the school is nearing full capacity and we don’t have the space to add more grade levels. We must provide appropriate facilities to accommodate them.

More, Larger, & Adequate Spaces

New Parish Center
We need a large, air-conditioned, and ADA accessible parish center to comfortably and conveniently host parish and school activities in a single connected space.Our parish center is too small and not welcoming to all because of accessibility issues. It is a poor place for gatherings, hospitality,  school events, and meetings because it limits who can participate in activities held there.

Permanent Middle School Classrooms
Our parish center could be an interim solution for temporary classrooms for our planned new middle school. However, we’ll ultimately need permanent classrooms connected to the school.

Expanded Preschool Program & Classroom
Our school’s one, small, preschool classroom can accommodate less than twelve students.

• We need a classroom large enough for twenty-four preschool-age children because of parish and local community demand for this programming.

More Secure School Entrance
Our education center is currently safe, but we need a more secure central entrance for our students, staff, parishioners, and visitors.With no secondary screening sources, people can access our education center with less scrutiny then they should.

More Adequate School Offices

• The school offices don’t have a spacious or welcoming reception area, a separate nurse’s office, or enough convenient meeting space.
• Sick children now must stay in the public office reception area.

Expanded Elementary School Classrooms
Our elementary school and religious education programs are at or near capacity and we don’t have enough classrooms. We don’t want to turn away students, but we are nearing full capacity with student enrollment at 126 students.

Multi-Use Cafeteria
We need a multi-use, dedicated cafeteria connected to our school.

• Parish funeral luncheons on school days must be held off-site or else school staff must have students eat lunch in the classrooms.

Multi-Use Gymnasium
We need a multi-use gymnasium connected to our school.

• Sending students outside to the parish center for gym activities is inconvenient and can be unsafe in inclement weather.
• The small gym locker rooms, showers, and rest-rooms are insufficient and unusable for athletics. Their crowded and poor conditions make them barely sufficient for hosting youth events.
• Students cannot use our gymnasium when there is an adult activity at the same time.  

Commercial Grade Kitchen
Our existing kitchen serves us well, but it is not air-conditioned or heated. It is an uncomfortable place to prepare and serve food for larger-scale parish, school, and community events.

Larger Multi-Use Parish Hall
We need a multi-use, air-conditioned, ADA accessible parish hall that is separate from the school cafeteria.

• Our hall serves many purposes, is constantly in use, and is the only large group meeting and social space besides the gym.

Multi-Use Adult Meeting Rooms
We have very few adult meeting rooms, and it is not practical or even possible to address the need for more and better spaces within the buildings we have.

Dedicated Youth Room
We do not have space for a dedicated youth room where all of our young people can meet and congregate at any time on any day—someplace that is always available, positive, and safe.

Expanded On & Off-Street Parking
Our on-and-off-site parking doesn't have enough spaces for our parish and school activities, including for Mass.

Expanded Outdoor Recreational Space
We need better and more outdoor recreation space for our children, parish, and community.

New Worship & Welcome Center

Larger Church
Our church needs extensive and expensive repairs, is too small for our parish membership, and doesn’t meet current safety and handicapped accessibility requirements or the needs of the modern liturgy.
Larger Gathering Space

Not having a large, welcoming gathering space limits our ability to build a more closely connected parish community.

Permanent Parish Offices
Someday, we must address our need for a permanent and professional parish office center because our current space is too limited.
