Our Plans
Consolidating our school and all our ministries and activities on the Divine Mercy campus will make it one central, active, inviting place that is open and welcoming to our members, visitors, and the Faribault community.
- This is the most cost-effective, long-term solution to meet our current and future needs.
- It will open up many new education, ministry, and event opportunities.
- It also will attract new students and engage current parishioners.
Education Wing
Maintenance, Location, and Space Improvements
- Building new will resolve all of the existing school’s age problems, significant and costly maintenance and improvements needs, and the fact that improvements still wouldn’t make the facility ideal for our needs.
- The current, constant facility repair funds can instead be used for mission and ministry.
- Building enough flexible and expandable space on the church campus means pre-K–5 students will fit in one building, and our faith formation program will have the space it needs.
Values, Resources, Accessibility, and Safety
- The new education wing will reflect our values by supporting our commitment to academic excellence and spiritual growth.
- It will provide a safe and visually appealing learning environment for our school and faith formation students.
- There will be dedicated music, art, and physical education spaces, a STEM lab and library, and a resource room to support students with learning differences.
- It will include rooms to support a range of learning modalities, new teaching technologies, and acoustic controls.
- The high-school sized gym with bleachers can host sporting events, tournaments, community activities, and recreational and social space.
- An elevator will provide access for everyone to all educational efforts.
- Point-of-access security will ensure entryway and video monitoring, access control, visitor screening, and student-on-student safety support.
- Reorganized traffic flow will ensure student safety by separating busing and parent pick-up/drop-off areas.
Multi-Use Commons Space
The new, improved multi-use Commons Space can be used separately as the parish social hall and school cafeteria or joined together for larger events.
- It will provide greater opportunities for adult ministry and a convenient, accessible area for events that build parish unity and community.
- It also will provide overflow seating space for busy Masses such as on Our Lady of Guadalupe feast day, Christmas, and Easter.
- We will be able to easily host funeral lunches, wedding receptions, Quinceanera, confirmation, SpiritFest, and Lenten soup suppers.
- The new area will provide needed parish social and meeting space, serve the new school, and help expand our ministry and outreach efforts with a facility that can be made available to the larger Faribault community.
Administrative Office Center
- A conference room, workroom, and offices will support all church and school staff together, and include room for future growth.
- The shared space will enable collaboration and teamwork, enriching church and school staff relationships.
- The combined space will improve task, time, equipment, and supply redundancies and inefficiencies.
