Initial Improvement Plans

New Commons Area & Storm Shelter

• A large hallway will lead into a commons area to serve the new multi-use gym.
• Concrete reinforced walls in the hall and commons will meet new, accessible, storm safety codes to provide shelter-in-place space for severe weather.

New Concessions Area

• The new concessions area will allow us to serve simple food and refreshments after church services and during gym events.

New & Updated Restrooms

• New handicapped accessible men’s and women’s restrooms will conveniently serve both the church and new gym.
• Our school’s existing boys and girls restrooms will be enlarged and updated to meet handicapped accessible codes.

New Gymnasium

• The new, 6,500 square foot multi-use gymnasium will be able to adequately host church and school large-group recreational and social events and activities.
• Our existing gym and kitchen will continue to be used for school lunches, gym classes, and mid-sized group recreational and social events as needed, at least in the interim.
• Having both a new and old gym will provide space to hold multiple mid-to-large size events simultaneously.
• Regulation-size courts and bleacher seating will enable us to host our school’s basketball, volleyball, and other indoor sporting events and games.  
• The large gym will accommodate adult games and leagues and large all-church, all-school, and community recreational events and activities.
  In the future, the gym could be available for rent and it offers the opportunity to extend our presence into the larger community.

Eventual Improvement Plans Once sufficient funding becomes available.

New Gym East, South, & West Additions

• On the east side will be a small-group multi-purpose meeting and social space and warming kitchen.
• The west side hall will be extended to a new limited entry, exterior gym entrance.
• On the south side a gym storage room, school classroom, and a multi-use meeting room or future school classroom will be added.

Classroom Additions

• Two new classrooms will be added onto the school's south side.

Church Entrance

• A prominent exterior church entrance with a protected drop-off and parking lot access will be built.
• A new welcome desk will be located immediately inside the new entrance.

Other Improvements

• Church and school meeting, work, and office spaces that were eliminated in previous renovations will be added.
• An adult conference room will be created.
• The old gymnasium may be converted into additional class and meeting rooms. Two school classrooms would occupy the main level and two adult meeting rooms would be added on a new upper level.
